The highlights of Emma and Matt’s wedding at the amazing Falcon Manor, North Yorkshire – 27th September 2020
An Autumn Wedding in Settle, North Yorkshire

Covid-19 has been a bit of a bugger hasn’t it? But this wedding proved that love conquers all. Having rearranged their day once, then having to cut their guest list followed by the prospect of having to cut their numbers again to 15 (they luckily missed that one by one day!), it had been a stressful time for Emma and Matt. However, even though they were missing a few faces special to them they had the perfect day. They live-streamed the ceremony to their wider family and friends who were unable to attend in person, which meant that everyone was able to witness their wedding vows. I have to say that having not photographed a wedding for a long 9 months it felt so good to be out doing what I love best.
Falcon Manor was an absolutely amazing choice of wedding venue. I hadn’t photographed a wedding there before but a quick look online got me really excited. I arrived nice and early armed with donuts given that Emma had told me that she couldn’t wait for the wedding diet to be over. The bridal prep was super relaxed and if Emma was feeling any pre-wedding stress she certainly didn’t show it. The maid of honour, having not been able to join us due to living in France and the isolation rules surrounding inward travel joined us on video chat, it was a great morning.
The ceremony was lovely and they were watched by their beloved Collie Sam, dressed in a tuxedo he totally out-shone the groomsmen (sorry guys!).
Emma and Matt couldn’t have picked a more weather-perfect day! I had panic bought a big coat in the days leading up to the wedding, we were having awful wet and cold weather. Well, I needn’t have bothered as the coat never left the car. the weather was GLORIOUS and really warm. Someone was really looking out for them as the next day the weather was just as bad as it had been previously. Most of the wedding party’s time was spent outside and there were some fantastic opportunities for us during their bride and groom portrait session. The golden sunlight couldn’t have been more perfect.
Needless to say, Emma and Matt were a delight to get to know and photograph, they don’t stop laughing. I have loved every moment working with them, from booking to album designing and all the bits in between, including the stressed out phone calls! Their wedding will always hold a special place in my heart.
