Dog Portraits North Yorkshire.
Well, what a ride we’ve had these last few months! Who’d have ever thought that in the space of a few weeks our entire lives would be turned upside down. As a photographer who mainly shoots weddings, mine and my peers’ businesses have been turned upside down as the hospitality industry ceased to exist. However, as the lock down begins to ease now and with a clear diary with many weddings being rearranged for next year it has given me some much needed time to focus on other projects. And whilst I am unable to shoot weddings, one thing I can photograph…dogs!
Just before Covid-19 hit our shores I had ordered a new long lens, and it has since sat untouched, awaiting it’s big debut. I had been waiting my entire photography career to be able to purchase this lens so when it arrived and I couldn’t use it, it was very much a “rain on the parade” type of moment. However, once lock down began to ease and we were permitted to meet one person outside, I got in touch with a friend and arranged to meet her on her usual dog walk. I took my camera and my new lens and took the opportunity to photograph her lovely dogs.
The long lens was perfect for a socially-distanced shoot and helped me to create some beautiful portraits of Bertie and Mabel for Jo. The fields of Northallerton Leisure Centre gave us a lovely back drop and plenty of variety.
